Volunteers serve an extremely important function when they donate their time in the evenings between the hours of 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm. During this time the volunteer helps the Residence Director if dinner is not complete, straightens the kitchen as necessary afterward, is there to answer the phone or coordinate with the staff member on call if there is a question, just be there as a responsible adult.

The Palmetto House is a dry, clean temporary home with Rules of Conduct not unlike any that is expected from a reasonable individual. The Summerville police have never had to respond to a disturbance at the Palmetto House. This is due to the fact that the Palmetto House strives to provide as many Opportunities as possible for residents to Succeed, recover their loss and grow.
